Mostly it is just me and my TTL with the 35/1.4A mounted. I pretty sure the
darn lens has corroded on by now.

John - Your corrosion lens-body mating system isn't much different from that
described by infamous rock n' roll photographer Jim Marshall, who describes
mating lenses and bodies for life - find a lens that seems to like a
particular body and leave it there.:-)
