Sharpness. 1962 Modern Photo test found mirror slap did effect image quality in tests of a Nikon F. Mirror systems have improved since then but there is still measurable impact. RF Accuracy. Osterloch (sp) Leica M book has an excellent illustration of superior focusing accuracy of Leica RF vs Leica R. RF is far far more accurate up to about 120mm or so.
