Subject: [Leica] Living with a D!X

I use a D1x (also Kodak 760) to make a living, I average about 700 images a
week with it. These can be seen at HTTP;//media.ford.com for those of you
with media credentials, also if you attend one of the auto shows most of the
pictures for the GT40 were shot with it. I post to this web site and to the
AP wire a lot, with my lap top and cell phone I can edit and post a story
almost in real time. The white balance feature is great and the auto 1.5
multiplier a bonus (my 135 f2 is now a 200 f2).
That being said, I am working on a project involving factory work. I want the
folks to forget I'm there and just go about making cars. The lighting is dark
and hard to balance, for this I am using a couple M6's wide open with NPZ.
The big profile of the Nikon, is hard to ignore especially with the extra
battery and the wopper size of the "S" series zooms and to get a wide shot
you are forced to use a 14 mm which picks up flair. Auto focus sucks in a
dark factory and the M6 gets the job done.
Different tools for different jobs
