My fellow luggers may (just this once) be leading you slightly astray...

I agree that multiple monitors are good and that desktop boxes are faster
and more expandable than laptops.

BUT:
You don't need a desktop box to use a CRT.
The Tibook has a VGA connector that runs a second independent monitor.
I use a 22" flat screen CRT monitor with my TiBook.
That gives me two monitors, the 15" LCD on the powerbook and the 22" CRT.

I also use a SCSI card with it.
It's not as good as the SCSI bus on a desktop, but it works,
The laptop's a lot easier to carry around than the desktop.
