did it burn through the meter patch (the white circle)? If not it should
only knock $50 or so off the resale price. Silicone black on the white
circle will cause metering errors if there is a lot of it. I expect M6
prices to dive 9along with Bessa R prices when the M7 is announced then
stabilize at about 80% of current levels. (much as Nikon F4 prices fell when
the F5 came out)

Trade ins are excellent for dealers but you are leaving money on the table I
would encourage you to e bay your M6 now prior to PMA with all warts fully
disclosed and a reserve of the minimum a dealer would offer you for it in
trade
