the M3 was announced in 1954 DI 1966. The MP in 1956-57, the M2 1958-1967
the M4 1967-1971 1974-1975 the CL 1973-1976 the M5 1971-1975...

the R4 and R4s/p overlapped the R5 and RE overlapped (along with the R6)

there is precedent for overlap in Leica production (in recent times) Mark
