The big advantage of the R2 is that it weighs about a half pound less than the M7. Erwins only comment against the R7 is that it "lacks character" (meaning that it will be about 1/5 the cost of an M7). So barring major problems, it will be an R2 to use with Leica lenses and to complement my M5. I only get the digest, so my response to comments will be slow. Jay Goldman P.S. did you notice Erwin's comparison of the R8 with the M5.
