I have used several hand meters over the past few years; my comments are as follows: ++++++++++++++++++++ Sekonic L-158 Auto-Lumi - Very light. Inexpensive and built like it; mine broke within days of taking delivery. Metering is fairly accurate and it does not require batteries. Not recommended for anything approaching normal use. ++++++++++++++++++++ Sekonic L-508 Zoom Master - Heavy; requires belt holster or large pocket for field use. Expensive and robust; mine has been thoroughly used in all scenarios and has never failed me. Metering is extremely accurate; requires one AA battery over many months of use. ++++++++++++++++++++ Sekonic L-208 Twinmate - Very light, though not as light as the L-158. Relatively inexpensive, but robust nonetheless; mine has been moderately used and has not failed with field use. Metering is quite accurate; requires one coin size Lithium CR2032 battery; mine is still using the original 8 months later. One of the few small light meters available with *both* incident and reflected light measurement. Can be mounted on the hot shoe, but is very large on the camera if done so. I replaced my L-508 with this model because I was tired of hauling the heavier meter around with me.
