This is one of the big misunderstandings about gray market film.

It is not necessarily shipped around the world and then re-imported. In 
most cases, it is film that is *slated* to be shipped outside of the 
U.S. distribution channels. But it is usually "reimported" before it 
ever leaves U.S. shores. It may even come out of the same warehouse as 
the official U.S. stuff.

The official U.S. film contains a premium that pays, for example, for 
Kodak USA advertising, promotions, scholarships, Kodak technical 
support, and what have you. The the gray film intended for overseas 
distribution doesn't have this premium built in.

I believe Fuji has similar distribution methods.
