Big email fights die down quickly, and they are a natural (and fortunately occasional) thing here. If you can't stand the heat, feel free to get out of the kitchen. While I don't think I agree with BD's technique, asking whether or not someone has a conflict of interest is not "stupid," nor is it an attack.
