Leica will not make R lenses for Nikon (or any
other SLR) for that matter, and with good reason.

Leica builds and sells "Systems", not just lens
and camera bodies. They are designed to work
in unison as a whole. To do otherwise would
dismiss all the effort which went into developing
the system in the first place.

Besides, I really doubt if Nikon users would be
willing to pay the higher prices for R lens, or that
Leica would be will to use cheaper materials or
manufacturing techniques to get the price down.

Like I wrote before, apples and oranges.
