I have a 50 Summicron that has a fogged element just behind the diaphragm.
Once a long time ago I cleaned it myself. It was really difficult to get
the fog off. The fog has come back so I'm going to send it to somebody who
does it correctly.

You can tell if an internal element is fogged by stopping down the lens and
shining a flashlight through it. The shadow of the diaphragm will show up
on the fogged element.
