It will work on your Leica but, without a little modification to the lens mount, it will not bring up the 28mm framelines in the finder of your M4-P/6/7. It is a good lens, not quite Leica quality (especially compared to today's 28/2.8), but nice and compact and well-made EXCEPT for an endemic design flaw which shows up as spots in the inner anti-reflection coating that sometimes also causes fog on the elements. This can be remedied by a very good lens technician. If it does not have the above flaw and you can get it for about $500, it's a good idea.
