Of course there's also always the very valid question of whether you NEED
the latest version, or whether the Academic version you purchased at a
discount will easily do what you need it to do until the time when you are
too blind, arthritic, and maybe just plain 'stupid' to be able to use it
anymore. ;-)

Subject: [Leica] Educational versions of software

- -- Hello folks!

Think before you buy the educational version of P-Shop and some others.
The normal "Upgrade" will not work with them, in most cases, and you then
have to purchase the whole enchilada again! It's OK if you stay in academics
where you can do this on and on (the least they can do - our pay is lousy!),
but if you drop out and go back into "the Real World" - You'll need the
whole new version. That is, if you can't find a starving academic who will
buy it for you for a coffe and sandwich! ;-)

    Cheers!
