Standard bathing beauty on beach, kids in the backyard, photojournalism, etc. It pretty much ensures you come home with the bacon. However there is no brain attached to the meter, so you lose the artistic judgement factors. For Zonies, the idea of a built in AE meter is silly. For Mom taking pictures of her soccer kids for the family album, it is a requirement. Like all things, if you do not like the feature, shut it off.
