Well, I use the Elitechrome 100 Extra Color (EBX) all the time. It is a 
very nice film for the price - good colors, nice grain - a great general 
purpose Ektachrome. It's not as saturated or consistent as 100VS, but it 
is still quite useful and generally a bargain via mail-order (adorama or 
b&h, for example - $2.95 as import film).

Try it, I bet you will like it, at least I do.
