Subject: Re: [Leica] doctors and lawyers (or civil servants?): An Introduction
From: "Chris Schweda" <cschweda@hotmail.com>

Well, I'm no doctor or lawyer or dentist, although some of my best friends
are.

Me, I'm a lowly civil servant.

Now, the question may be: how can a civil servant (working for the State of
Illinois) afford a Leica?

The answer, simply, is Cormac McCarthy. Or, more specifically, a Cormac
McCarthy first edition of _Suttree_ -- a book which I recently sold to
acquire a used M6 from Rich Pinto @ PhotoVillage (thanks, Rich!).

I don't get the absurdities of selling a book for close to the price of a
used M6 TTL, but, hey, I'm not one to complain.

Photos of the book are here:

Picked it up for $10 in Ann Arbor in 1992. Sold it 10 years later for --
well -- very close to the price of an M6. Go figure.

Anyway, consider this my introduction to the LUG. I've lurked for a long
time. Very enjoyable.

Pictures from the M6 will very shortly (tomorrow, I suspect) appear on my
website:

(Lots of pictures there now, though...)

Chris
