Subject: [Leica] re: nigerian businessman (419) scam

being on the internet, it's inevitable that we'd eventually get a "nigerian
businessman" scam article posted to the lug. i can live with that. but the
awful thing is when half a dozen people copy the entire message, append
"this seems to be a scam" or "wow!" or something and then send the whole
thing right back to the group, in case anybody's missed it i guess.

if anybody's interested in how this all works, i wrote a nice article about
it for InformIT a few months ago:

and i really recommend reading www.thespamletters.com just for the wonderful
exchange he has with a "nigerian businessman"

you should sit on the floor while you read this so you don't fall from your
chair while laughing and injure yourself.

obleica: while getting off a train yesterday i noticed a beautiful rainbow
ending at philadelphia's masonic lodge next to city hall. having, of course,
my m6 and 35mm sumiwhanot in hand, i fired off a few frames. i was unable to
gain access to the masonic lodge to look for the pot of gold, but a few old
men shouted cabbalistic things at me from upper windows as i pounded on the
doors demanding to see the head leprachaun. eventually one of them threw
what appeared to be a sextant at me (a wizend coger mowing lawns at a
rectory) and i beat a retreat shaking my fist.
