I wondered about the emphasis on hands, too.  Here is their quote from 
William Klein:

"Without a good eye no good photographs. But without good hands no photo at 
all."
William Klein

I guess he means you must hold the camera steady?  Or just hold the 
camera?  Doesn't make sense to base a whole advertising campaign on that!
