I've been trying to hold back on responding to this thread because,
as a user of ONLY screw-mount Leicas I'm sure that I'm considered:
a. eccentric
b. cheap
c. all of the above

However, I have to add that for some uses, such as use with lenses
that don't have a frame line on "Ms", screw-mount Leicas are actually
superior because of the magnified rangefinder ( especially with an
ORAKO or OKARO RF filter); the miserable built in 50 mm VF is not a
factor if you use the magnificent Leitz (or VC) 1:1 auxiliary finder;
there's no lever wind to hit left-eyed shooters in the eye and,
lastly, as Stephen Gandy points out on his website, all the little
knobs, levers, dials,engraved #s, etc. are VERY cooool!
