One of the photo bag companies - it may be Tamarac - now has a goofy version
of the military suspenders and belt. It is a sort of kilt, with tons of
pouches and pockets, with a waistbelt and suspenders....It would seem
preferable to a vest in that in warm weather you're not wearing an extra
layer like a jacket without arms. It looks really weird - I wouldn't suggest
it for informal shooting downtown ;-). But if you are on a job where
everyone knows you're a photographer, and you need access to a lot of
'stuff,' it looks as though it might be useful.

Here are a few ideas.

1. Try a photo vest.

2. The guys in the army have a utility outfit that has a pair of suspenders
and a belt, that has many attachable pouches. See if you can find something
like that. It may look funny, but it can hold a lot of weight.

3. There are some neck straps that zig-zag across your back and chest and
over your shoulders so as not to put stress on your neck, so you can hang a
bag that way .
