I watched the National Geographic programme about his hunt for (and finding)
the girl, and he shot that on Nikons. There is also an article about him in
this months 'American Photo' and he is using Nikons there.

I was surprised here in Hong Kong this morning to take the Post
Magazine out of the Sunday South China Morning Post and see that the
front cover of the magazine was a big picture of Steve McCurry's
Leica M4 - 2 with a Leitz Canada 35mm Summicron attached. In the
magazine was an article about his search for the Afghan girl and his
new book on Angkor Wat. Question? I believe Steve shot the picture of
the Afghan girl with a Nikkor 105 with the camera on a tripod.
Anybody know for sure?
