Subject: Re: [Leica] Awesome Web Site (morphed into Tilley hats)

I had a Tilley hat before I joined the LUG. I'm very fair-skinned, so I
needed something to keep the sun off my face. Only later did I learn that
they were part of Leica anti-chic.

When I was in Paris 4 years ago, the eight-something mother of our French
friend took one look at me wearing the Tilly, and exclaimed, "Ah! Cowboy!"

Better to look like a dork than to get sunburned or have sunscreen running
into my eyes. As an added bonus, I found that the Tilley hat sometimes
prevents RF flare. A humble baseball cap would also shade the lens,
provided it was worn forwards rather than backwards.

Now all I need is an equivalent of Ted's "Female Assistant From the Edge
of the Abyss," and I too can be an "artiste."
