Subject: [Leica] Unicolor Green Problem Solved

Just thought I'd make this known to all my friends on the LUG.
I posted a problem I was having a few weeks ago about everything that I
printed on my old Kodak Model 11 using Unicolor's 3 step R-3 prints from
slides chemistry was coming out Green. I called the company and talked to a
technical specialist named Alan, and he immediately solved it. He said that
the Model 11 was such an outdated machine it's wash cycles were not as
efficient as the more modern print processors, sooooo, he suggested a stop
bath step be added following each of the two developer steps.(In case you're
not familiar with R-3 process, there's a first developer step and then
after a lengthy washout a color developer step.) Well it did the trick.
Blacks were as black as can be and there was no green shadows anywhere
unless they were supposed to be there. Radiance III paper was used at first
and then Fuji No. 35 and both responded equally well with the chaanges. So
if any of you are suffering with this Green "syndrome" I think if you follow
the above you will eliminate it too. Sorry for the tome here, but just
wanted to clear the air.
