Well, we all have to accept the fact that even in there film-based forms 
the Nikons and Canons out-sell the Leicas probably by an order of 
magnitude or two.

Leica, unlike the others, has to compete with every other Leica ever 
sold, because they are still servicable.  If you have a Canon D30 then 
the D60 is almost a must-have item.  Digital echnology has changed quite 
a bit in a few years.  For an M6 user, an M7 is just another body with 
one more bell and whistle.  Then you have the Canon AE-1 which can't be 
repaired because the chips aren't made any more.

But if Leica can't hold onto their niche....
