I'm really unclear why it is offensive to sensitivities. Or to anything else.

Uh-oh. Here we go. No, no and no. Drive a Porsche and a Miata and you have a
qualitatively different experience. The Miata is a marvelous sports car,
delivers wonderful performance at an extraordinary price. But don't say
"they" could do the same thing driving a Porshe and a Miata.

And don't say that because you can make a wonderful image with a 35mm
Cosina/Voigtlander, that it is the same thing as a 35 ASPH Summicron. The
image will not be the same and the Cosina is not likely to be delivering
anything in 36 years while my 36 year-old 35 Summicron is still cranking out
very beautiful images as is my 44 year-old DR Summicron.

And a friend of mine is today having joyous driving experiences in a 1961
Porsche Super 90 identical to the one I drove in Paris 41 years ago.

The tactile pleasure of using the best tool for any endeavor, car, camera,
lens, fountain pen, rod and reel, firearm or business suit. And knowing that
it will last and very possibly, despite the high initial expense, turn out to
be cheaper in the long run.

Got it?
