My name is Reuben Acciano, I am 29 years old, shoot semi-pro (I'm also a writer and musician) and have never actually used Leica gear before. I am heavily involved in two other systems, one MF one other 35mm SLR system (sadly going the way of the dinosaur). The point of my presence here is this: I was recently bequeathed an R4 (black) in excellent condition, plus Leitz 135 f2.8, 35 (non ASPH) 2.8, and 50mm f2 lenses. I have no need of these - as beautifully as they handle, and as wonderful as this uncle-figure's photos always seemed to me - and am looking to divest myself of them pretty soon. I am trying to figure out a fair price, given that it is neither the most desirable Leica body or lenses, as well as the fact that I am trying to entrench myself deeper into MF and any proceeds of this kit is basically "found money". The body is in excellent condition/perfect working order, and above the infamous 16xxxxx serial number hoodoo; the lenses are perfect glass/perfect mechanical, but with some cosmetic wear/brassing due to handling. I'd say VGC plus. Obviously I have no history or reputation here. And it's not a Friday. So apologies in advance. Anyone needing to "check me out" can feel free to consult the members of the Olympus mailing list (olympus@zuiko.sls.bc.ca) - I have sold various items to some of their members over the past few years and enjoy a reputation of reliability and integrity. I have only done the most basic scouting of prices online and in print. I have, really, the vaguest figure in mind - as I said, this is found money. All it represents to me is a chance to delve further into MF, either by acquiring more gear or improving my wet darkroom with the proceeds. Therefore, I am happy to take reasonable offers, as it were (US dollars, please). For the entire kit, preferably, though I would consider separating the items. So fire away. Reply off list if any of you are interested - apologies again, and in advance, for this poor early form. Perhaps I can make it up in sound/interesting contributions to technical/artistic discussion in the event of actually owning/using some Leica gear over a longer term in the future? Obligatory Leica content - Elliot Erwitt, Eugene Smith and HCB are my favourite photojournalists ever ...
