Hi David.  Not being snitty or anything but the meter pattern was discussed
just recently in the archives.  If I recall correctly the TTL meter was
thoroughly discussed last year. So a look through the archives will be your
best bet.

But, to save some time the meter reads off a 12mm?  white spot on the
shutter curtain so it is a wide spot meter.  Treat it accordingly and all
will be well.

The TTL requires a compatible flash, either an SF20 or one of the Metz SCA
3501? compatible flashes.  The flash meter is completely separate from the
ambient light so you can play exposure games by playing the two against each
other.  Just remember that at any shutter speed over 1/50 will cause
progressively more non flash  exposed film as the shutter becomes a slit.  I
believe that the flash is metered  in a bottom center weighted pattern much
like the old Nikon F4 or 8008.
