You mixed my comments and Carls.. I was referring to email lists. I
used to be heavily involved in the open source community (Linux
development). Some of the projects include people who are very close
and meet from time to time in various places in the world. Still,
there is something about mailing lists, and email in particular where
ideas are sometimes easier to express but rarely understood. Combine
this with people who are passionate about what they do or the thing
the list is about and tempers will soar.

I am very serious in saying that this mailing list is tame
compared. In fact, if you took out all the posts of people complaining
about how bad the list 'has gotten' there would be very little content
outside what we are supposed to be here for :)
