I'd find a nice north window and a work surface to place the beads on. Get
them set up as you like, compose in the viewfinder and place reflectors as
needed. I'd skip any sort of flash...it will only add highlights that you
don't want. Outside on a covered porch with a white ceiling would be a safe
bet as well.

If you have access to digital, you could test shoot with it to see what kind
of shadows/highlights you're getting.
