Subject: [Leica] M3 pressure plate not working?

Hi everibody,

My "new" M3 and DR Summicron are showing an interesting condition: when
I shoot at f:2 and print the negs rebate to get that thin black line
around the picture, I notice that the black line on the top of the image
is sharp. However, the black line on the sides and bottom of the picture
is not sharp. At f:16, the black line is sharp all around. My enlarger
has just been checked for parallelism and the image shows grain to the
corners. Does that mean that the pressure plate is not pushing the film
evenly against the aperture? My photos appear to be correctly focused
but I wonder if I could get a little more sharpness (don't we all?). The
real worry is focusing 90 and 135m (when I get them). Should I stop
worrying?

Thanks for your help,

Amilcar
