No, Fred, THIS is what you wrote:
"The "Leica way" is simply the difference between a "photograph" and a
"snapshot" - and, sadly, it seems that many folks are unable to "see"
the difference."

And that sentence is a far cry from what you have written below. :-)

you ought to re-read what I said...that a "photograph" can be taken by
any camera...and that, by extension, it is the PHOTOGRAPHER who makes
the difference...sorry if you didn't "get" it the first time...I hope
that you can understand this greatly simplified explanation...to sum up
"Photographers take photographs..."...but, by extension, not everyone is
able to do this and no-one can do it all of the time...there, I hope
that helps...

So 90 plus % of the photo's that are in some way considered classic or
art are now nothing but snapshots? Spare us the snobbery. I've gotten
some great photographs from most of my equipment even my now dead
Olympus Stylus not to mention my Olympus 35SP. And as hard as it may be
to believe my Nikon F5 and D100 take some pretty impressive photographs.

everyone, are they???

I'm sure you do great with your Olympus Stylus...

WHAT? So if one takes a "photograph" with a Nikon, a Canon, a Contax, a
Rollei, or for that matter an Olympus Stylus, it is representative of
"the Leica way?"

The "Leica way" is simply the difference between a "photograph" and a
"snapshot" - and, sadly, it seems that many folks are unable to "see"
the difference.

But, then again, they certainly aren't right for everyone... :)
