On other thought - if you can get permission from the referee try shooting with
the camera right on the deck behind the starting blockbetween lane 4 and 5 of a
sprint event. Use a lens wide enough to catch both lanes. 

This is M6 territory really because you want to snap the picture an at INSTANT
with no mirror delay, autofocus delay, no of it. You want an instant when the
two athlete are out over the pool, either arched and about to snap down to force
a penetration of the water or have begun that motion.

Try this angle in practice.

PS: you'll get wet but hey - you're indoors and at a pool, what do you expect!
