I got to spend a day with Claudia Schiffer a few years ago.  Nothing but praise for her.  Very professional and nice and personable.  As for local models, you kind of get what you pay for; some are great to work with, true professionals, some others are prima-donnas in training.

 the models are but mannequins...very pose-able mannequins.

Are you kidding ?They are the real professionals.
Being pretty atractive is only a small part of it.
What about being cool under pressure.
Murderous competition.
All that when still in early adolescence.
I believe mr. Lagerfeldt attempts to end the reign of the supermodels
in favour of photographers will fail quickly.
