Hence the need for "regime change" in Venezuela a few months back.

Having our own little protectorate-dictatorship in the Middle East 
controlling massive amounts of oil would tend to give us a leg up in 
bargaining, eh?

As it rests right now, no one disagrees that Iraq is an "evil" 
dictatorship and that Saddam Hussein would better serve the world with a 
bullet in his head. Unfortunately, we have no reason to believe that an 
invasion by the United States would change anything. History indicates 
that we're quite happy with dictators, as long as they're our 
dictators - all the way up to today, where we support the regimes in 
Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.
