The Classic M6 shutter speed dial is the best of any M camera.  Better 
grip than the M1-M4 (haven't used an M5, so I cannot comment on that) 
and taller and more profiled than the M6TTL and M7.  I've before never 
heard anyone complain about the Classic M6 shutter speed dial.
