Subject: [Leica] digital M7 (I know.. not again..)

Every time there is a flurry of digital M7 lust, someone shoots it down with
a simple explanation that the current crop of CCDs are ill-designed to
handle the short lens-film distance of an M7.
IE, the angle of incidence would be too steep at the edges of the CCD.

But why not CURVE the CCD to optimize the angle of incidence?
Image distortion could be corrected with software.

Seems too simple to me.
Is it?
