I give this advice to everyone I know who is getting married.
Afterwards most of them, in gratitude, name there first born after me
:-) One or two weeks BEFORE the wedding, get dressed in your full
regalia and go to a professional portrait photographer for a few
formals. There is no pressure, you can fuss over your hair, laugh,
whatever... Now you can have the wedding and relax about the
photography because the ONE is in the bag. Formals on the day of the
wedding are just a big drag. A few self timer group shots should be
fine for the rest.

If you are on a budget, then use the rest of it to buy one use cameras
for as many guest as you can afford (do not forget to factor in
processing).
