Subject: [Leica] RE: Warranty Issues

I went to B&H Sunday and handled the FM3n, and was
pretty impressed with the build quality. An
"imported", (grey market), version cost $80 less than
the official US product and included a 2 year "B&H"
warranty. There is no slight of hand here: One
camera is grey market and has no Nikon USA warranty.
The other, in a different box, with a different serial
#, was backed by Nikon USA. Tamarkin sells grey and
offical USA Leicas and they are not the same cameras.
Some have full Leica US warranties, and others have
"Tamarkin" warranties, but they are not the same
cameras. (The shell games ususally happen further
downtown--on lower Broadway or Canal Street).

I want my Guiness 'cause grey is gray, and both are
accurate.

Cheers,

P
