Those with electronic expertise can shoot this down, but I think the faster
speed is the natural speed of the shutter.  This means with no input on the
"shutter brake" the shutter fires with the slit width giving 1/125.
Depending on the design, 1/60 would either be a greater tension on the brake
or reduced tension on the spring for the second curtain providing a wider
slit.
