I have been reading all the new Leicavit posts and can't keep quiet any
more. I am pissed. Tom is such a heavy supporter of Leica and Leica products
and seemed to have worked with them closer than you or I and here they go
off and knock off his product which he is busting his ass to make at a
realistic price. His rapidwinder is not a copy of their old discontinued
product, it is an original design that fits on a publicly traded
corporations' product, to help "left eyed" shooters and photographers that
need a rapid shooting rate. They already had an electric drive unit why do
they feel they need to jock his product. Oh sure they put a few extra gears
inside and made it shorter, this is in my eyes this is the same as patent
infringement would be if he had chosen to go down the never ending path of
getting his product patented. I really think it is low to do this. CV made a
copy but it is for a camera Tom does not make a product for. I am glad there
are so many used Leica products out there in circulation because of this
"copying" move I will never buy another new Leica Product. Tom and his wife
have been through a lot of personal grief and he truly has put super human
effort into producing his niche market product for us the photographers who
use Leica cameras and he has done it for a fair price. I believe and hope
Leica falls flat on their ass with this overpriced copy of his product and
am sure they will never be clever enough to beat him at his game.

Rant over, have a good evening or day.
