Maybe we are talking about the sides of the brain here ... maybe the M is a
right-brain camera, and the SLR a left-brain camera, or vicey-versy? ;-)

Ooh!  Controversial Statement Warning!  I think I'd say the exact
opposite.  To me, SLRs require you to engage the brain and actively
think about *making* a photograph.  Rangefinders (and Ms in particular)
are cameras where you observe the world and take pictures when they
feel right that appear infront of you.
