Jerry,
For decades has been my favorite BMW. It ran like clockwork. My personal
choice leans towards Audi and Porsche but there is something about that car
that hits the buttons. Mike has 2, the blue one that went to the race that
is actually driven and a red one that is on display at the BMW museum in
South Carolina. BMW is looking to buy the red one to keep in their
permanent collection. At the beginning of the race, in the rain, we were
approached by a Count from Germany who was driving an open 328, he looked at
the car and then commented, "ah, I see you brought the touring car".
Last year it rained most of the time, and I must admit having a modern car
to follow with (at their speeds I might add) was a pleasure - besides it
gave me more time to use the M7 (keeping somewhat on topic). Brought 4
cameras, the afore mentioned M7 with a 21 and Noct, a F100 for long and
quick stuff, an Olympus 3030 for digital and an Olympus Stylus in case it
rained, very wise last minute decision.

Bill

Ah! The 507, a gorgeous car except that it sat too high on
it's wheels. Lovely V8 engine.
