The other problem is that Leica only comes out with a model ..... oh 
... once a decade. They're not used to the 6 month product cycle that 
Canon/Nikon/Minolta/Sony and others seem to be on. About the time 
that the Leica engineers decide where to put the red dot, there will 
be a sensor that has twice the resolution and they'd be back at the 
drawing board.

If they were smart, they'd follow Hasselblad's lead with the H1, and 
design a new R10 to take digital backs but visiting the Hassie Users' 
Group (HUG), that has proven to be a controversial decision.

Anyway, if you want a "Leica" digicam, buy the Panasonic rebadged 
one. <tongue-in-cheek>
