Subject: [Leica] Leica Digital SLR rumors...TRUE?

A very reliable friend of mine living in Hong Kong sent me an email with a
photo of a prototype Leica Digital SLR. Yes, it seems the rumors are true!

The photos came from a Japanese Leica magazine that shows a Leica R9D 8mp
Digital SLR camera. The camera looks just like a R9, same finish, but of
course with a digital layout on the back. 2" LCD monitor!

The magazine states that Leica is trying for a early 2004 release date.

Camera specs are so far:

8mp CMOS chip(yeah, full frame!)

2" LCD Monitor

RAW+Jpeg modes

CompactFlash and XD card slots

Manual focus(sorry no AF)

Seems as though the magazine mentions Fuji and Panasonic helping out in the
digital areas.
