Solms - 2008

The first all-digital SLR bearing the Leica name was released today. The 14 M
Pixel camera boasts full capability to handle all prior Leica R System lenses. A
wealth of in-camera options allow the stored images to be sharpened and a
variety of other image processing filters to be applied right in the camera.
Images maybe downloaded to a personal computer via a supplied USB cable and
Windows 95 capture software.

More details followed.

The working press uploaded their 50 MB files from their Canon D5s via wireless
internet connections, yawned, added a few voice annotations and a recording of
the press conference, and went home.

Leitz stock was worth .92 euro at the close of the days trading.
