Martin and Vick - thanks for the pointers - it appears to be enamel.  I 
am not sure that the dealer knows for sure - he is asking an "enamel" 
price but I needed to verify that the unit was in fact  'enamel'.  I am 
not a collector so I will probably pass on this purchase.
