Peter,
On the web images posted, the 90AA is clearly the better lens, even with the
uneven sharpness.  The question that must be answered is, Would you prefer
almost even almost sharp, or biting sharp with falloff?  This is not a
rhetorical question as it will change how you shoot images.

I suspect that you will love the 90AA when there is a soloist or a lead
performer as you can really isolate that person.  But that in group shots
you will stop down and learn to wait for that moment when everyone is still.

Thank you for posting the images.  Now you understand the raging debates
about lenses here, each one has a signature that can be artistically
interesting.
