Subject: [Leica] Leica R lenses and Ilford Film

I have been using Kodak B&W films for the past twenty years, using
D-76, HC-110 and Tmax developers. I have on occasion used Ilford
B&W films such as HP5 with mixed results.

I would like to use Ilford PanF Plus with my Leicas but I'm not sure
what developer to use that will give the best possible results with
economy in mind. Preferably, I would stay away from one-shot
developers unless the dilution was rather high. I have been using
and reusing Tmax developer with more than adequate results, but I
don't believe Tmax would be appropriate for PanF.

What is everyone else here using and what is recommended ?

Funny thing is, I've been shooting a lot of digital with my Canon 1D and
the newpapers D-1. More and more I find myself shooting B&W with my
R8s.

I currently have several hundred feet of TMAX100 and PlusX125 in
the refrigerator. I would like to pick up some PanF and give that a try. I
would also like to use the new developer with the Kodak B&W films.

I have already looked at the Ilford site and the choices are many.

Just looking to see what others are using with their Leicas.

Regards,
Dave Strang
