Subject: RE: [Leica] Reworked sleepy anesthetist image

Well, I was inspired by an image in Tim Rudman's book on toning where he
used the same technique for a portrait of a mother and child. The image was
much different than this one, granted. But with the diffusion I could let
the dark tones creep into the light ones and smooth out the skin. The
resulting softness seemed appropriate for her delicate features (although
the scan adds a bit more "fuzz" than the print has. It also adds a
dream-like quality, making it a less literal portrait. I suppose I'm
experimenting with new (to me) techniques.

Thanks,

Tom

Good morning Tom,

Im totally puzzled by why youd want to soften the image to such a high
degree?
